"In almost every building in the western world you will find at least one Saint-Gobain product". Saint-Gobain Abrasives is the largest and most successful abrasive manufacturer in the world, selling into a multitude of markets with an extensive range of products.
Saint-Gobain wanted to introduce a new initiative to help departments within the organisation work more effectively together in a drive to improve the customer experience.
We looked at a number of initiatives to help motivate employees and give them a better understanding of the process. The objective being to gain buy-in, get feedback and motivate people to behave in ways that would not only be better for business, but for their own working environment.
We called the initiative 'Service First' and involved the whole order process from start to finish in the communication. We introduced a motivational call-to-action from the Chairman and created a set of golden rules for everyone to follow.
The initiative was launched simultaneously at local events throughout Europe. The programme included a live address from the Chairman, videos, brainstorms, training and feedback initiatives. In addition there were banners, posters, giveaways and screen savers to help drive the message home.
The campaign won the prestigious Saint-Gobain Global Star award in 2008 for internal initiatives and continues to work successfully.
